George Hulsey

About me

Hi! My name is George Hulsey; welcome to my website. Here I have collected my contact information, my CV/links to my publications, various sets of review notes that I have written over time, and a selection of my favorite pictures from the many adventures I've been lucky to have in life.

I'm a PhD candidate at UCSB pursuing a degree in theoretical physics. My interests are in synergy between theory and computation; this is the theme of my work on the quantum mechanical bootstrap with Prof. David Berenstein. I am also interested in the application of mathematical physics techniques to complex systems outside the quantum world. Some of my recent work, with Prof. Jean Carlson, solves a simple Markov process as a model of a wildfire under suppression. I'm currently enjoying learning and experimenting with equivariant deep learning architectures.

Outside of physics, I live in Santa Barbara with my wonderful partner Millie and enjoy biking, playing guitar, hanging out with my dog, and learning to cook new and exciting foods from around the world.
